Constructed by British in 1906 at Port Blair, stands mute witness to the atrocities meted out to the freedom fighters, incarcerated in the jail. The name ‘Cellular Jail’ was given as this jail is made up of individual cells for solitary confinement of the prisoners. Originally it had 698 cells with 7 wings fanning out from a central hub.
Small and beautiful island less than a sq. km in area had been the seat of British power and Capital of these islands from 1858 till 1941. When Japanese occupied the islands, Ross was converted to a PoW site. The ruins of the church, the Chief Commissioner’s bungalow among overcrowding vines and aerial roots are the last remains of the colonial forces.
Situated on the north of Port Blair, is suited for snorkeling, viewing underwater corals, marine life through specially designed glass bottom boats.
CARBYN’S COVE BEACH
The coconut palm fringed beach is ideal for sun basking. Historical remains of the Japanese bunkers can be seen on the way.
Apart from regular science exhibits, Science Center has an ‘Andaman & Nicobar Islands Gallery ‘with interactive exhibits depicting genesis of the Islands, volcanic activities, science of oceans, etc.
SOUND & LIGHT SHOW
The heart touching saga of the atrocities meted out to the heroes of freedom struggle by the colonial forces, brought alive in a moving Sound & Light show at the Cellular Jail premise. This show is very popular and is a must watch for one and all visiting these islands.
RAJIV GANDHI WATER SPORTS COMPLEX
This is the first of its kind in India that offers all possible aqua sports facility including safe and adventure- water sports, under one sports complex.
The park situated adjoining Rajiv Gandhi water sports complex has facilities like amusement rides, flowers garden and also has a statue of the legendary Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, who visited these islands and unfurled the Indian tricolor for the first time on December 29, 1943.
CHATHAM SAW MILL
One of the oldest and the largest saw mill in Asia is built on a tiny island connected by a bridge. It is a store house of timber like padauk, gurjan, Marble, satin wood etc.
It houses some of the rare species of birds and animals of these Islands.
Among other thing, the ethnographic museum illustrates the four Negrito tribes of the Andaman viz. Jarawas, Sentinelese, Great Andamanese and the Onges and two Monogoloid tribes of the Nicobar viz. the Nicoberese and Shompens.
SAMUDRIKA (NAVAL MARINE MUSEUM)
This is a museum showcase various aspects of oceanic environment, a good collection of shells, corals and a few species of colorful fishes of the islands.
FISHERIES MUSEUM (AQUARIUM)
Exhibits the marine life endemic to the islands and collection of shells, coral few species of colorful fishes found in the Indo-pacific and the Bay of Bengal.
This park has facilities like amusement ride, safe water sports and nature trail around the lake, garden, restaurant and historic remains like Japanese Temple and bunker as well.
The Islands derives its name from vessel ‘Viper’ in which Lt. Archibald Blair came to the islands in 1768 with the purpose of establishing a Penal Settlement. The vessel, believed to have met with an accident and its wreckage was abandoned near the islands. Gallows built atop a hillock, visible to all prisioners in the islands signified death.

SAGAREKHA COTTAGE & KHADI EMPORIUM
It exhibits & sell spectrum of Khadi, artificats and handicrafts such as the mother of pearl, sea shells and local wood products, miniatures of canoes, palm mats, tables, furniture etc, jute products and cotton wears.

It is the highest peak in South Andaman (365 meters high). One can trek upto Madhuban through a nature trail and see rare, endemic birds, animals and butterflies.

Wandoor is at a distance of 29 Kms. from Port Blair. On the way is Agriculture Farm, Humphrey Gunj Martyrs Memorial, Rubber Plantation. This Marine Park, comprising open sea, creeks and 15 small and large islands, is one of the best found anywhere in the world. One can visit the islands of Jolly buoy and Red skin by boat, viewing rare corals and underwater marine life through glass bottom boats on the way.
3. CHIDIYATAPU & MUNDA PAHAR BEACH

Chidiyatapu is the southernmost tip of South Andaman. A biological Park has been established here by A & N forest department. The lush green mangroves forest with numerous chirping birds and the sylvan sands and munda pahar beach make it an ideal picnic site and sunset point.
